Creating Culture

It is almost 30 years of engaged presence in communities of the San Francisco Bay Area, where a number of projects coalesced as Artship Initiatives. In the last 3 years an ongoing partnership is quietly growing with halka art project in Istanbul. Two-city programming has emerged as a way of giving voice to a diversity of contemporary expressions and artists. This nonlinear partnership hopes to signal continuity, solidarity, immersion and engagement. Freedom of imagination precedes freedom of speech is one of the seed ideas of Artship Initiatives.
